As Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign ramps up its effort to raise millions more for her bid to unseat Republican Donald Trump, her supporters are accusing her of taking the country to the brink of an impeachable offense.

In a letter to U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch, Hillary Clinton supporters accused her of “a grave miscarriage of justice,” saying that she is “unable to face justice” for her mishandling of classified material and her use of a private email server while she was secretary of state.

In the letter, the campaign of former President Bill Clinton, whose wife is running against Trump, asked for the appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate the former first lady and her top aides.

The Clinton campaign also called for an independent commission to investigate her actions.

“We urge you to appoint a special counsel to oversee your handling of this matter, as well as any other matters concerning your office,” the letter said.

“The American people deserve to know the truth about this matter.

We also call on you to immediately appoint an independent prosecutor to oversee this matter.”

Lynch did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Trump has denied the allegations, calling them “a witch hunt.”
